Frank J. Finver, Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, joins the Board of Directors of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission

We are pleased to announce that the Ambassador of the United States to Poland, Paul W. Jones has appointed Frank J. Finver to the Board of Directors of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission.

Frank Jonathan Finver is a career member of the Senior Foreign Service. Before taking up his position as Counselor for Public Affairs at the U.S. Embassy in Warsaw, he served in the Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs (NEA) as a senior advisor working on efforts to counter Islamic State messaging in order to weaken and defeat that threat. He previously served as U.S. Embassy spokesman in Baghdad, public affairs officer in Jerusalem, political officer in Tel Aviv, and various jobs in Zagreb, Lisbon, and Moscow and in the NEA, Economic and Business Affairs as well as the Environment and Science bureaus in Washington.

Frank is the recipient of two Superior Honor Awards and five Meritorious Honor Awards.  He has a BA and MA in International Relations from American University in Washington, D.C. and speaks (or has spoken) Arabic, Russian, Serbo-Croatian, Hebrew, Portuguese, and some Polish.  He and his wife are from Bethesda, Maryland and have three children, two daughters in Boulder and Denver, Colorado and a son in Kensington, Maryland.
