SPECIAL ISSUE OF "CZAS KULTURY"

Freedom and independence – two values that have been deeply ingrained within both Polish and American identities – will be the prevailing theme of the Fall 2019 special issue of “Czas Kultury” (2019, no. 3). Thanks to the kindness of the journal editors, this forthcoming issue will be a chance to present the Fulbright Program to a wider audience through academic, artistic and literary works of our grantees.

The issue’s cover story will take the form of a comparative perspective prepared by Fulbright grantees from both sides of the Atlantic (Michał Buchowski, Sandra Hanson & Steven A. Tuch, Hanna Mamzer, Dominic Pacyga, Molly O’Neal, Megan Roy Will, Marek Wasilewski). Lydia Conklin, Karolina Kubik, Endi Poskowic and Cecilia Woloch will share their literary and visual works. Franciszek Lyra, the first Polish alumnus of the Program, will discuss the beginnings of the Polish-U.S. educational cooperation. There will also be a number of texts on Olga Tokarczuk – Polish writer and the winner of 2018 Man Booker International prize – including an interview with Jennifer Croft, Tokarczuk’s translator into English, who is also a Fulbright alumna, as well as texts written by W. J. Burszta and K. Hoffmann.

This special issue will be published in both Polish and English language versions. The anticipated publication date is September 2019.

HOW TO GET THE ISSUE?
