Fulbright Poland Ambassadors Program

The Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission invites Polish higher education institutions to organize information meetings with the Ambassadors of the Fulbright Program. During the meeting, the Ambassadors share their experiences from their stay on the Fulbright grant in the USA, talk about the current scholarship offer of the Fulbright Commission and provide tips on how to strengthen Fulbright application.

Ambassadors operate in 12 academic centers in Poland: Białystok, Częstochowa, Gdańsk, Katowice, Kielce, Kraków, Łódź, Lublin, Poznań, Rzeszów, Warszawa, and Wrocław.

How can a meeting be organized? There is an e-mail address next to the profile of each Ambassador. Just choose a person from your region and contact them directly.

Ambassadors’ role

  • Active role in the promotion of the Fulbright Program in Poland by organizing outreach events and sharing their Fulbright experiences.
  • Cooperating with other Program Ambassadors, including participation in meetings and training for Ambassadors.
  • Supporting prospective Fulbrighters by refering them to resources on how to prepare a succesful Fulbright application.
  • Cooperating with alumni associations and informal groups of alumni active in their region.

Arkadiusz Bednarz

Arkadiusz Bednarz

I am an expert in Aircraft Engines, an assistant professor at the Department of Aerospace Engineering (Rzeszow University of Technology) and an employee of Safran Poland. Between September 2018 and March 2019, as part of the 2018/2019 Fulbright Junior Research Award program, I conducted research at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA.

Andrzej Demczuk

I hold a PhD in political science, and I am an assistant professor in the Institute for International Relations at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin. My Fulbright Junior Research Award grant (2020-21) focused on an analysis of the leadership characteristics of three recent presidents: Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama.

I am a summa cum laude graduate of the Jagiellonian University Law Faculty, a Ph.D. candidate at the Business Law Department of the Jagiellonian University . I pursued my Fulbright Scholarship in 2023 at Columbia Law School in New York.

I am an architect, critic and research scholar in architecture. My research interests lie at the intersection of modernism and postmodernism in the twentieth century’s art and architecture. I won a Fulbright Junior Research Award 2019/2020 and was a Visiting Scholar at the History of Art Department, University of Pennsylvania, PA.

I am a professor at Poznań University of Technology (PUT), the founder of the Poznań Transportation - Logistics Research Group and Logistics Department at PUT. I am a two-time Fulbright scholarship holder at Harvard University and University of California, Berkeley in the "Junior" and “Senior” categories, respectively.

I am a pianist and a professor at the Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce. In 2023, as a Fulbright Senior Award scholar, I had the immense pleasure of spending half a year at the University of Southern California (Los Angeles), where I researched Polish roots in Hollywood (especially the works of Henryk Wars and Bronisław Kaper).

I am an art historian and cultural studies expert specializing in contemporary Polish art, affiliated at ]the Institute of Art Studies at the University of Silesia in Katowice. I was awarded a Fulbright Slavic Award for the year 2022/2023 at the University of Washington in Seattle.

I am a sociologist, psychologist and philosopher. I am an Associate Professor at the Department of Social Sciences, University of Gdansk. I received the Fulbright Senior Award to conduct research at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, USA in 2016-2017.

Krystyna Malińska

Krystyna Malińska

I am a lecturer and a researcher at the Faculty of Infrastructure and Environment at Częstochowa University of Technology, where my research area covers environmental engineering and sustainable agricultural with particular interests in i.e. nutrient recycling in agriculture and managing organic waste through composting. As a Fulbright Junior Award recipient in 2006-2007 I did my research at Pennsylvania State University.

Alicja Puścian

My work at Nencki Institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences focuses on the relationship between the brain and behavior, especially in the context of emotions, motivation, and social interactions. In 2023 as a Fulbright STEM Impact Award recipient I conducted a project at Duke University that bridged the gap between two dynamically developing STEM disciplines: behavioral economics and systems neuroscience.

Karol Szulc

I work as an assistant professor at the Institute of Political Science of the University of Wrocław where I deal with comparative EU-US research, with particular emphasis on political crises and ways of solving them. I went on a research fellowship in the USA in 2019 as part of the Fulbright-Schuman program.
