Tickets: 30 PLN (normal) and 15 PLN (student discount) will be available for purchase before the event. All proceedings will go toward a Fulbright fund in Michael’s honor, called the Michael Gilmor Fund for Leadership and Empowerment. This fund will support American Fulbright grantees in Poland who volunteer in Polish schools outside of their host cities.
Steinway Artist Pamela Howland is a classically trained concert pianist, a specialist in the works of Polish composer Frederic Chopin, and a fan of The Beatles – but primarily, she communicates emotions to audiences through the language of music. Pamela has created original piano arrangements of beloved Beatles tunes, transporting the Fab Four back to Chopin’s musical landscape.
Michael Samuel Gilmor (September 8, 1995 – August 25, 2018) cherished his time as a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Poland from 2017-2018. He worked tirelessly to promote international understanding all over Poland, sharing his American culture and learning more about others’ cultures through his engagement activities and lessons with Polish youth. Mike particularly enjoyed working with Polish youth in remote areas of the country, volunteering his time to ensure all students had equal opportunity to learn from an American grantee. He encouraged inclusivity during his hands-on lessons, and encouraged students to follow their dreams. Michael lived by the principles of teaching through experience and stories, through laughter and fun, and through service. The Michael Gilmor Fund for Leadership and Empowerment will ensure that Michael’s actions and efforts live on.
