In August 2018, Fulbright community was shocked by untimely death of Michael Gilmor, 2017-18 English Teaching Assistant to Poland. Michael was one of the brightest, kindest, most caring and giving people we have ever met. In honor of Michael’s amazing life on Earth, Pamela Howland, a world renowned pianist and fellow Fulbright scholar from Poland, will perform four benefit concerts.

The first concert was held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the historic Church of the Epiphany in downtown Washington D.C., with 350 attendees who came to listen to the program titled “Chopin meets the Beatles”, and to donate to Michael Gilmor Fund for Leadership and Empowerment – an initiative of Pam, Briana and other alumni from the 2017-18 Fulbright Poland cohort. This scholarship fund ensures that Michael’s actions and efforts live on. American Fulbright grantees in Poland will have access to this fund to help them cover the costs of volunteering in Polish schools outside of their home city and host institution.
