Laureates of the Fulbright Senior Award 2021-22

We are pleased to announce laureates of the Fulbright Senior Award 2021-22!

Fulbright Senior Award is a grant for Polish scholars, who want to conduct a research or research/teaching project at the American host institution.

The call for applications lasted until June 1, 2020 and we received 52 complete applications. All applications were formally checked and then reviewed by 3 independent substantive experts. Selected applicants, who obtained the highest score, were invited to an interview. The Board of the Polish-U.S. Fulbright Commission nominated 10 candidates for the scholarship. The nomination was given to:

  3. Dr hab. Magdalena Urbaniak, University of Łódź, Institute of Ecology and Environmental Protection
  4. Prof. dr hab. Przemysław Marciniak, University of Silesia in Katowice, Institute of Literary Studies
  5. Dr Barbara Muszyńska, University of Lower Silesia in Wrocław, Language Education Section
  6. Dr hab. Beata Nowacka, University of Silesia in Katowice, Institute of Literary Studies
  7. Dr hab. Stanisław Samborski, Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Faculty of Agriculture and Biology
  8. Dr Łukasz Szkopiński, University of Łódź, Department of Applied Linguistics and Didactics of Romance Languages
  9. Dr Aleksandra Wiśniewska, University of Warsaw, Faculty of Economic Sciences
  10. Dr hab. Rafał Zapała, Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznań, Institute of Composition and Theory of Music


The total number of grants for the 2021-22 academic year includes the above nominations, as well as 12 nominations from the previous year, which had to be postponed due to the pandemic. In total, 22 scholars will be able to conduct their projects in the U.S. during the 2021-22 academic year.
