Senator J. William Fulbright described Fulbright Program in the following way: “a modest program with an immodest aim.” We can find a similar motto in the descriptions of TED conferences worldwide. TED talks are simple performances that capture phenomenal and unusual ideas. And what kinds of ideas have our alumni presented?
On January 29, during TEDxFulbrightWarsaw, an event that has inaugarated the 60th Anniversary of Fulbright Program in Poland, a great dose of inspiration, motivation and most importantly knowledge awaited the participants. The main theme of the talks was “Be Bold. Never Regular”, with the common thread for all of our speakers across disciplines (biologists, psychologists, lawyers etc.) to find courage to come in front of others, so important to change the world. It is also courage that characterizes each and every Fulbright participant.
TED talk’s most prevalent message is to spread the “ideas worth spreading”. We have started our jubilee year with this event to show that Fulbright connects people who are invested in shaping the modern world across different disciplines.
